Nothing beats a good layover when you're spending it with nice colleagues/friends, especially if they share the same interest (pork!) and the same zodiac sign. :)
The night we arrived in Frankfurt, we immediately went out with the other crew to get some chow.
As you all know, pork is not really available in the sandpit, so every time I get a chance to eat pork, I chase the opportunity with open arms! LOL! As it turns out, the three of us shared the same craving - crispy pork (with all the fat that came with it!). So we bought our roasted pork leg from the airport grocery for 3.35 euros (soo cheap!!!), roasted duck with rice (from the Thai restaurant - it was soooo expensive!), pork sausage (courtesy of Yuki) and ate it in the airport's food court! hahaha! People were looking at us and I could only imagine what they were thinking - 'what the?? these girls look as if they haven't eaten pork for months!!!'
anyway, it was so delicious. i enjoyed sharing the food and the experience with 2 nice and beautiful ladies.
We agreed to meet at around 9am the next morning for some sightseeing and guess what? We were all wearing black! what a coincidence... when Therese asked Yuki about her zodiac sign, we finally understood why the three of us get along well - we are all Librans :)
anyway, we took the hotel's free shuttle to the airport and from there we took the train to go to the very popular Römerberg.
when we stepped out of the station, we noticed that almost all of the establishments were still closed.. So we spent some time to read our maps and try to figure out which direction we should go to get to Romerberg.
On the way, we saw.... bread! And just like that we were, again, drooling with excitement. :) oh, i love bread :)
The first significant tourist spot that we reached was this beautiful church. Kaiserdom, St Bartholomäus, or the Frankfurter Dom is the most beautiful and impressive Church in Frankfurt. It stands 95 M tall and has been standing since the 1200s (at least the oldest parts of it). I just learned these through Google while I was writing this blog post. :P

So this is Romerberg.... The old houses are really nice. However, it was disappointing since there was a sort of temporary stadium built around the Justitia Statue (the Fountain of Justice) - it destroyed the whole scenery. :( We didn't even have the chance to see the statue. :/ if I remember correctly, the stadium was built for the upcoming event , The Iron Man Triathlon or whatever...
- After that, we walked around while enjoying the scenery, the weather and Frankfurt's fresh air. We saw some pretty interesting things along the way.

we ate at a place called Heininger and... do i still need to say it? all three plates contained pork. ;-)
after eating, we went for some more walking and sightseeing... Our feet lead us to this very interesting pedestrian bridge - Eisemer bridge. The bridge is filled with padlocks that has lovers' names and dates written on them.

So, that's it! We spent the whole day sightseeing and eating. :) I enjoyed Frankfurt with the 2 of the most beautiful Librans I know.. I will definitely request for more Frankfurt flights to further explore this interesting city. if not, maybe someday I will get another chance to be in Frankfurt at my own expense or with the love of my life. we'll will see the Fountain of Justice, fix our love locks into the steel railings of the Eisemer and throw the key into the river where no one can find it. :)
